Trey Joseph Ridgeway Obituary, – The identities of two individuals who perished in a tragic vehicle accident in rural Polk County last week have been disclosed.
On Tuesday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 25-year-old Trey Joseph Ridgeway from Ankeny and 23-year-old Jayden Anna Hughes from Clear Lake lost their lives on Friday afternoon in a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of NW 44th Street and NW 126th Avenue, located northeast of Polk City.
Initial investigations indicate that Ridgeway and Hughes were traveling eastbound on NW 126th Avenue when their vehicle collided with another vehicle heading south on NW 44th Street.
Their vehicle ultimately came to a stop near a treeline and was completely consumed by flames. According to the PCSO, both Ridgeway and Hughes were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, an adult female, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
