Tony Horne Arrested; – An Augusta man was arrested following an apparent double homicide early Wednesday on Mystic Lane in Augusta. Tony Horne, 46, of Augusta, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, according to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 2:30 a.m., Richmond County deputies responded to the 3000 block of Mystic Lane for a shooting. When they arrived they found a man and woman who were shot at least once inside of their home, according to the release. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office confirmed the incident is being investigated as a double homicide. The incident report wasn’t immediately, according to the sheriff’s office. The investigation is ongoing, they said. An autopsy has been scheduled, according to the coroner’s office. Identities of the victims will be released once the next of kin are notified.
