Timothy Daniel Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist from Live Oak, Sutter County, tragically lost his life on Wednesday after being struck by a car on Highway 99 while riding home from his job as a mechanic, according to his stepdaughter.
His family is grieving and seeking assistance through an online fundraiser. A GoFundMe page launched on Thursday identifies the deceased as Timothy Daniel. Katey Chapman, his stepdaughter, confirmed this information. “He was humorous, kind, and exceptionally diligent, always willing to help others or share a joke to uplift someone’s spirits,” states a message on the GoFundMe page attributed to Daniel’s family.
“Regardless of whether you knew him for years or just a brief moment, you experienced his warmth, generosity, and profound love for those around him.” On Wednesday morning, he was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Highway 99 when a Nissan Rogue traveling southbound turned left onto Bogue Road at the southern edge of Yuba City and collided with the motorcycle around 8:45 a.m., as reported by the CHP’s Yuba-Sutter office in a news release last week.
Daniel was thrown from the motorcycle, sustained severe injuries, and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. According to Chapman, he was returning home from his night shift as a mechanic at Farmers’ Rice Cooperative in West Sacramento. He was 61 years old, as stated by her; however, the CHP had reported him as 62. Daniel was originally from Hallwood, a town in Yuba County, as noted by Chapman. She recalled him as an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
“He was a very cautious and passionate rider, having been riding for over 20 years,” Chapman remarked. “I have learned to always be on the lookout for motorcycles whenever I am driving and to exercise caution around them,” she continued. “It is essential for people to learn to share the road.” Daniel’s family mentioned in the GoFundMe campaign that they were collecting funds to cover funeral expenses and to support Daniel’s wife. By Monday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised over $2,000 towards a goal of $10,000, with 25 contributions.
