Thalia Salinas,Brianna Valadez Obituary, Death; – Five women from the Dallas region tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident last week while en route to celebrate a birthday.
CBS News Texas has reported that the victims were all in their early twenties. The group was on a weekend getaway to the Central Texas town of Kingsland to honor Thalia Salinas’ 23rd birthday.
As per the Texas Department of Public Safety, the head-on collision occurred in Burnet County on U.S. 281 near Park Road. Investigators indicate that a truck towing a livestock trailer swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding with multiple vehicles.
The vehicle carrying the five women overturned and ignited.
The victims have been named as Thalia Salinas, Ruby Cruz, Brianna Valadez, Desiree Cervantez, and Jacqueline Velazco. Thalia’s family stated that the five shared a bond akin to sisterhood and had been friends since their middle school years.
In a statement, Thalia’s family expressed: “Words cannot convey the depth of our devastation. We were on our way to celebrate Thalia’s birthday in Kingsland, Texas, at her favorite location — by the lake — surrounded by all her cherished friends. Then we received the heartbreaking news of the girls’ tragic passing in the most unimaginable accident. We will never heal from the loss of Thalia, Brianna, Ruby, Jackie, and Desi.”
The DPS has confirmed that the investigation into the crash is ongoing. No additional information regarding the truck driver or possible charges has been disclosed.
