Teagan B Swanepoel Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of the man from Preston, Idaho, who tragically lost his life last week in a motorcycle accident in Blacksmith Fork Canyon.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the incident took place shortly before 11 p.m. on July 24, when the motorcyclist, traveling west on state Route 101 near mile marker 10, encountered a curve in the road. The operator was unable to successfully navigate the curve and veered off the road to the left, as reported by the department.
“At this point, the roadway is situated approximately 12 feet above the river. The motorcycle departed the roadway near the river bridge, landing in some underbrush on the opposite side of the river before ultimately coming to a stop in the river,” the department stated in an announcement.
The operator, later identified as Teagan B. Swanepoel, aged 19, was wearing a helmet at the time but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The department is currently investigating speed as a potential contributing factor in the accident.
