Tatayana Penister,Demetrius Feemster Obituary, Death; – Arkansas State Police and U.S. marshals on Thursday evening arrested the fourth and final suspect identified in an April shooting at a Conway park that killed two people and wounded nine, according to a news release from Conway police.
Marshals and state police SWAT officers arrested Kemarie Johnson, 19, of Conway in Pine Bluff on Thursday evening, the release states. He faces two counts of capital murder, nine of attempted murder and one of terrorism.
Johnson was one of four suspects Conway police named during a late-April news conference about the April 13 shooting at Fifth Avenue Park and another shooting at the University of Central Arkansas. He was 18 at the time of the park shooting, which killed Tatayana Penister, 24, of England and Demetrius Feemster, 23, of Little Rock.
At the time of the news conference, authorities had arrested two suspects — Ryan Goins, 20, of Pine Bluff and Tyler Farris, 19, of Conway — and were searching for Johnson and his 21-year-old brother Keydrick. Police arrested Keydrick in June.
“This arrest reflects the relentless work and coordination of local, state, and federal partners,” the news release states. “Our detectives have remained focused on justice for the victims and families affected by this tragic act of violence.”
In the April news conference, Conway police Lt. Tom Kennedy said around 73 shots were fired from seven different weapons during the shooting, which happened around 6:43 p.m. at party in the park. Officials have said the party probably should have been shut down earlier in the evening.
