Susan Williams Obituary, Death; – The charge against an individual accused of murdering an 80-year-old woman in Roanoke has been elevated to first-degree murder.
On March 2, 2025, a grand jury in Roanoke indicted Kurt Davis for the death of Susan Williams, which occurred on the morning of February 19, 2025, in Southeast Roanoke. Initially, he faced a charge of second-degree murder.
Williams, who served as the Executive Director of the Local Office on Aging for many years, was discovered deceased outside her apartment, exhibiting signs of head trauma. According to court documents, Davis admitted to law enforcement that he struck her multiple times with a rock. Davis is currently incarcerated at the Roanoke Adult Detention Center.
