Sunghyun Ahn Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the individual who passed away at the hospital on Wednesday evening as Sunghyun Ahn, 39, from Ridgecrest. This incident occurred following a vehicle-pedestrian collision reported at 5:42 p.m. in the 1600 block of South China Lake Boulevard, located just south of the Shell gas station. Ahn was in the process of crossing the street when he was struck by a large truck. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries. Following the departure of the ambulance, China Lake Boulevard was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation.
