Steven Patrick Clark Obituary, Death; – The police in Faribault have confirmed the identities of both the pedestrian and the driver involved in a tragic incident that occurred on Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the Walmart store in Faribault at approximately 9:50 AM on Monday after receiving a report indicating that a pedestrian had been struck and pinned against a wall by a vehicle that was reversing.
Initially, he was experiencing back and pelvic pain and was only semi-conscious, according to police reports.
As he received emergency medical attention, his condition began to worsen. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital in Faribault, as stated by the police.
On Tuesday, the Faribault police announced that the pedestrian was identified as 74-year-old Steven Patrick Clark.
According to police, the Medford resident was exiting the Walmart liquor store and had just turned the southeast corner of the building when he was struck and pinned by the reversing pickup truck.
Authorities have identified the driver who reversed into Clark as 68-year-old Steven Francis Dyrdahl from Kenyon. Dyrdahl remained at the scene following the incident, as reported by the police.
Law enforcement officials previously indicated that impairment was not a contributing factor in this fatal incident. The case is still under investigation.
The Faribault Police Department has stated that they will submit the results of their investigation to the Rice County Attorney’s Office for review and to determine whether any charges should be filed.
