Stephan Myers Obituary, Death; – The individual who was discovered fatally shot behind Bristol-Plymouth High School in Taunton has been named, according to a statement from Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn.
Stephan Myers, a 39-year-old resident of Falmouth, was located in a construction zone behind B-P early Wednesday morning, as reported by the DA on Wednesday evening. He succumbed to injuries from a single gunshot wound, the DA confirmed. Myers has been sent to the Massachusetts Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Construction is currently underway at B-P for a new school facility on the existing campus.
The DA’s Office previously stated that there is no known link between Myers and the school. B-P Superintendent Alexandre Magalhaes reassured families in a written statement on Wednesday that there was never a threat to the safety of the school community, that the school was not placed on lockdown, and that normal school operations continued without interruption.
He also noted that the Hart Street entrance was reopened for afternoon pick-up. The investigation remains active and is being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police detectives unit assigned to the DA’s Office, along with Taunton Police detectives and homicide prosecutors. The DA’s Office has indicated that no further information will be released at this time.
