Stephan Hill Obituary, Death; – Portage County officials have confirmed the identity of an 18-year-old man who succumbed to injuries sustained in a car accident on July 5.

Stephan Hill, hailing from Wisconsin Rapids, was seated in the front passenger position of a pickup truck traveling east on Evergreen Avenue in the town of Grant, as stated in a news release from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, a 17-year-old male from Wisconsin Rapids, lost control of the vehicle, struck an embankment, and the pickup overturned, ultimately coming to rest on its roof.

Both Hill and the 17-year-old driver were ejected from the vehicle. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman who occupied the backseat were reported to be uninjured, according to the news release.

Hill was a student at Lincoln High School, where he was enrolled until the spring of 2024, as confirmed by the school. His obituary describes him as an outgoing individual with a remarkable sense of humor. Hill had a unique ability to bring happiness and laughter to those around him, including family and friends. His interests included fishing, disc golf, and playing video games with his peers, as noted in his obituary.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, as reported by the Sheriff’s Office.
