Stanley Gorczyk Obituary, Death; – A man from Lackawanna County, identified as 60-year-old Stanley Gorczyk, was struck and killed by a car on Saturday evening while walking along a busy road in Dickson City, according to Coroner Tim Rowland.
Gorczyk, who resided in Dickson City, succumbed to multiple traumatic injuries sustained when a vehicle collided with him as he walked along business Route 6 near the Circle Drive-In, Rowland reported. A 911 call was made to report the incident at 5:46 p.m. Chief Deputy Coroner Jesse VanDeusen declared Gorczyk deceased at the scene.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for approximately three hours while police from Dickson City collaborated with state troopers to conduct an investigation.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the crash; however, the coroner has classified Gorczyk’s death as accidental.
