Sport news; – Spanish champions Real Madrid secured a 3-0 victory against Real Valladolid in La Liga on Sunday, with Kylian Mbappe making his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu without scoring.

The French forward played at home for the first time in a Madrid jersey but faced significant challenges from Valladolid’s defense. Midfielder Fede Valverde opened the scoring with a low deflected free-kick in the 50th minute, followed by late goals from substitutes Brahim Diaz and debutant Endrick.

Although Madrid struggled to create opportunities in the first half, they managed to secure their first win of the season after a previous draw against Real Mallorca. Despite their efforts, Carlo Ancelotti’s team remained two points behind rivals Barcelona, who triumphed over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

Ancelotti included Arda Guler in the lineup to replace the injured Jude Bellingham, who is anticipated to be sidelined for a month due to a calf injury. Real Valladolid, the only team in the league to maintain a clean sheet in their opening match, aimed to frustrate the champions from the outset.

Darwin Machis had a deflected shot that narrowly missed, but the visitors primarily focused on defense. Aurelien Tchouameni shot over from distance as Madrid controlled possession without posing a significant threat in the summer heat of the Spanish capital.

In the second half, Madrid displayed more aggression and quickly took the lead. Valverde struck a powerful low free-kick that deflected into the net, breaking the stalemate. Madrid had the opportunity to extend their lead, but Rodrygo misdirected a pass intended for Vinicius, who was poised to score.

Mbappe missed a prime chance to register his first goal when Vinicius set him up, but Estonian goalkeeper Karl Hein made a commendable save. The French captain had another opportunity on a counter-attack but shot wide before being substituted for 18-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick.

Mbappe completed his long-anticipated transfer to Madrid this summer after concluding his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, having previously scored on his debut in a UEFA Super Cup victory.
