Sincere Devon Fitz Obituary, Death; – Authorities have provided updated details regarding the mass shooting in Spotsylvania County, including the identification of the third victim and the status of the juvenile suspect who was hospitalized following the incident.

The third victim has been named as 19-year-old Sincere Devon Fitz, a resident of Spotsylvania County, as reported by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. Fitz was among three individuals fatally shot during what investigators have characterized as an “illegal gun sale/robbery” that escalated into gunfire around 6 p.m. on April 8 in the Olde Greenwich Circle vicinity.

The other victims previously identified are 18-year-olds Chase Feaster and Alonzo Goffney, both also from Spotsylvania County.

In related developments, one of the four teenage suspects, a 16-year-old who sustained injuries during the incident, has been discharged from the hospital and transferred to the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center. This teen faces several charges, including malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and unlawful assembly.

In total, four teenagers have been apprehended in connection with the shooting: two aged 16, one aged 17, and 18-year-old Jeremiah Upson, who is the only suspect publicly named thus far. Two of the suspects are from Spotsylvania County, while the other two hail from Caroline County. All suspects are currently being held without bond.

Law enforcement officials report that the shooting resulted in three fatalities and three additional individuals suffering critical injuries. The incident unfolded rapidly and violently in a residential neighborhood, leading to a temporary shelter-in-place order and an extensive overnight search that concluded with all suspects in custody last week.

Compounding the situation, the sheriff’s office confirmed that a neighbor shot one of the suspects during the chaos. The individual reportedly observed an armed person in a nearby parking lot after hearing gunfire. He instructed a family member to call 911, retrieved his firearm, and shot the suspect before retreating into his home to await law enforcement. Authorities have stated that no charges will be brought against the neighbor, who acted in self-defense.
