Simeon Bihesi, Margaret Miller Obituary, Death: – A Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) employee was the initial individual to encounter the four victims of a deadly shooting that took place on two Blue Line train cars early Monday morning, as reported by law enforcement.
Prosecutors disclosed new information regarding this tragic incident on Wednesday, providing further insight into the quadruple homicide that transpired shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Monday. Rhanni Davis, a 30-year-old resident of Chicago, was charged on Tuesday in relation to the murders.
The CTA employee, tasked with cleaning the train cars each morning, commenced his routine on one of the cars where he discovered three of the victims. While sweeping the entrance, he inadvertently swept a shell casing from within the train onto the platform. This alarming find prompted him to notice the three victims seated inside the train car.
The first victim was a 52-year-old man whose identity has not yet been disclosed by authorities. The second victim was identified as 28-year-old Simeon Bihesi, followed by 64-year-old Margaret Miller. All three were found deceased in the train car, leaving the employee in shock at the grim scene he had uncovered.
As the employee continued his work, he found a fourth victim in a different train car. This individual was identified as 60-year-old Adrian Collins. Prosecutors indicated that Collins had sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach and appeared to have raised his hands defensively when confronted by the assailant. Although Collins was still alive when discovered, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital due to the abdominal gunshot wound.
Security footage from the CTA proved to be vital evidence in the investigation. The video captured the alleged shooter, who was attired in a black shirt, dark pants, a black ski mask, and white socks, while also carrying a cross-body bag. This footage enabled CTA control to track the suspect as he boarded the Pink Line train. The suspect was apprehended near the stop at 2011 S. California Ave., shortly before 7 a.m. on Monday.
Law enforcement officials detained Rhanni Davis at the location.
