Sherri Sweet Obituary, Death; – Maine State Police have apprehended a man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend on Saturday.
The victim, identified as 37-year-old Sherri Sweet, succumbed to her injuries following a reported domestic altercation at 48 Brattle Street in South Berwick. Authorities took her boyfriend, 43-year-old Jeremiah Godfrey, into custody on Wednesday after securing a murder warrant. During a 911 call made on Saturday night, police reported that he mentioned a “struggle over the gun” prior to Sweet being shot in the head.
She passed away the following day at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. An autopsy performed by the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday classified her death as a homicide, as stated by state police.
