Shawn Oveisi Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist died nearly two weeks after a hit-and-run crash on MoPac, according to Austin police.
On Tuesday, May 6, Austin police officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in the 2900 block of North Mopac. The driver of the vehicle had left the scene by the time officers arrived.
The motorcyclist, identified as 47-year-old Shawn Oveisi, was seriously injured in the crash, and was transported to a local hospital. Oveisi succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The incident is being investigated as Austin’s 34th fatal crash of 2025,.
