Sgt Andre S Stewart Jr Obituary, Death; – A man has been charged with murder following an incident in which he allegedly shot another man found in bed with his former girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child.

Natravien Landy, a 25-year-old soldier in the Army National Guard, reportedly shot the victim, Sgt. Andre S. Stewart Jr., on Saturday morning at a residence located in Fort Eisenhower, Augusta, Georgia. According to investigators, Stewart succumbed to his injuries approximately one hour after being shot in the chest at a local hospital.

Records from the Fort Eisenhower gate indicate that Landy entered the military installation around 4:45 a.m., attended drill duty, and was released by 7 a.m. Subsequently, Landy arrived at the home of his child’s mother around 7:15 a.m.

The woman disclosed that she was involved in a romantic relationship with Stewart, which had incited jealousy in Landy. On the morning of the incident, while she and Stewart were in bed, she reported waking up to a disturbance in her bedroom and observed Landy standing in the doorway.

She approached Landy to engage in conversation, but as she turned away, she heard a gunshot, as per investigators. Witnesses present in the home stated that a relative of the woman was outside when Landy arrived and inquired about a truck parked there. When the relative attempted to re-enter the house, Landy allegedly forced his way inside.

Another witness recounted hearing the gunshot and seeing a flash in the hallway. Investigators were informed of a struggle between Landy and one of the witnesses, during which the witness fell to the floor and down the stairs.

One witness claimed to have seen Landy strike Stewart four times with the firearm before shooting him and departing the scene. Landy reportedly left the military post in a Toyota Camry just prior to Fort Eisenhower initiating a lockdown at 7:50 a.m.

Authorities utilized surveillance footage and cellphone data to locate Landy, who was apprehended south of Atlanta on Interstate 85. During a felony traffic stop, deputies observed Landy discarding a 9mm handgun from the car window. Investigators reported that Landy confessed to, among other actions, shooting the victim.
