Sergeant Adam Williams Obituary, Death;- The individual involved in the officer-involved shooting on Highway 151 has been identified as of Wednesday.
On July 1, deputies from the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office executed a traffic stop on Highway 151. During this stop, the suspect in question brandished a handgun, resulting in gunfire.
The suspect, 36-year-old James Sherrill, has been confirmed as the individual involved in the shooting and was declared deceased at the scene. Sergeant Adam Williams, aged 46, has been identified as the deputy who was shot by Sherrill.
The officers who were part of the incident include 49-year-old Officer Chad Leitzen and 42-year-old Officer Cole Millard. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting. At this moment, no additional information is available.
