Sara Leick Obituary, Death; – One person is dead and two others are seriously hurt after a Barnes County crash Monday morning. It happened around 8 a.m. along State Highway 1 and Barnes County Road 22, about a mile east of Sanborn.
A semi-truck driver, 59-year-old Dwight Albrecht of Sanborn, was hauling soybeans on Highway 1 when a Dodge Avenger tried to cross. Officials say the semi struck the Dodge on the passenger side.
The passenger in the Dodge, 46-year-old Sara Leick of Valley City, was killed. The driver, a 15-year-old girl, was taken to a Fargo hospital with life-threatening injuries. Albrecht was also taken to a Valley City hospital with serious injuries. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
