San Ryan Christie Obituary, Death;- Authorities identified the victim of San Leonardo’s first homicide of the year, who was shot and killed while walking his dog earlier this month.
The man fatally shot was 47-year-old San Ryan Christie of San Leonardo, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau said Friday. The shooting happened on June 14 around 8:30 a.m. near Euclid Avenue and East 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers found Christie lying on his back with his dog still leashed to his hand, police said.
Christie appeared to suffer a gunshot wound in the back, police said. Christie’s dog was not injured and later taken to a shelter, police said. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to support Christie’s wife, Rachel Tarwater Christie, and their children.
