Samuel Williams,Alvin Hammond Obituary, Death; – The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified three men who lost their lives in separate shooting incidents on Friday morning.
At 1:49 a.m., officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to a report in the 1200 block of Bienville Street. There, they discovered 51-year-old Samuel Williams, who had been shot multiple times following a confrontation inside his apartment in Iberville. The assailant fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Emergency medical personnel transported Williams to a hospital, but the situation escalated to a homicide investigation after authorities were informed of his death.
In a separate incident, 53-year-old Alvin Hammond was fatally shot in Central City early Tuesday morning. Officers arrived shortly after 4:10 a.m. in the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue, where they found Hammond with at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Another shooting occurred on Tuesday around 7:15 p.m. in the Desire area. While responding to the 4500 block of Gentilly Road, officers discovered 53-year-old Vicencio Gonzalez Tellez suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Subsequent investigations revealed that a group of suspects approached Tellez, shot him, and fled the scene with his wallet and cell phone. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital around 1:30 p.m. Currently, no additional information regarding potential suspects is available, and the investigations into these fatal shootings are ongoing.
