Ryan,Emily Long Obituary, Death; – Four individuals were discovered deceased within a residence in Madbury on Monday evening, in what investigators are describing as a potential murder-suicide.
State troopers arrived at a residential location around 8:21 p.m. following a 911 emergency call. Upon entering, authorities located Ryan and Emily Long, aged 48 and 34, along with their children, Parker, aged 8, and Ryan, aged 6, all of whom succumbed to gunshot injuries. A third child, referred to only as a toddler, was found alive and unharmed, as reported by officials.
Autopsies are set to take place on Wednesday. Authorities currently state that there is no known danger to the public.
On Tuesday, police tape cordoned off a section of a rural residential road in Madbury where the family resided. Investigators were observed entering and exiting the home, while news helicopters hovered above.
An online resume indicates that Ryan Long had been working as a school psychologist at Oyster River Middle School in Durham for the past nine years. District officials have yet to release a statement confirming his employment.
