Ross Collins,Kyle Blankenship Obituary, Death; – The Kentucky State Police have disclosed the identities of the three officers from the Lexington Police Department who fatally shot a suspect linked to a tragic church shooting that occurred last weekend.
KSP is actively pursuing its investigation into the officer-involved shooting that took place on July 13 at the Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington.

Authorities report that Guy House discharged his weapon within the church, injuring four individuals, two of whom succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other two were hospitalized with severe wounds. The two women who lost their lives in the church shooting.

Officers from the LPD utilized their service firearms during the event, resulting in House being struck and subsequently killed. The officers involved in this incident are Sgt. Ross Collins, who has served for 13 years; Officer Kyle Blankenship, with 5 years of service; and Officer Simon Rankin, who has been on the force for 8 years.
In line with departmental regulations, all three officers have been placed on administrative leave. Authorities indicated that prior to opening fire inside the church, House had already shot a KSP trooper on Terminal Drive near the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.
