Rory Gittings Obituary, Death; – State police in Indiana County report that a man from Shelocta lost his life on Wednesday evening in a multi-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.
According to investigators, troopers were sent to the scene of the incident, which occurred on the 3000 block of Route 85 in South Mahoning Township, shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Troopers indicated that the rider of a Harley-Davidson, identified as 51-year-old Rory Gittings, was traveling eastbound when he veered into the oncoming lane and struck a Dodge Caravan.
Authorities confirmed that Gittings was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials noted that the driver of the van, along with two passengers, received treatment for what appeared to be minor injuries. State police are actively pursuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
