Ronnie Wake Obituary, Death; – A man from Springfield who was trying to cross Chestnut Expressway lost his life on August 15, marking the city’s 14th fatal motor vehicle accident of 2025.
Ronnie Wake, aged 56, from Springfield, was one of two pedestrians on the road who were struck by a 2026 Jeep Compass, as reported by Springfield police.
According to the police, Wake succumbed to his injuries, while the second pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. on August 15 in the 3200 block of West Chestnut Expressway.
Authorities stated that Tyler Reid, 34, also from Springfield, was operating the Jeep, which was traveling east when it allegedly collided with both pedestrians. Both individuals were taken to the hospital. Wake’s family has been informed of his passing.
