Roger Whidbee,Aileen Whidbee Obituary, Death; – A woman from Elizabeth City has been charged following an incident in which her vehicle struck and killed two pedestrians early Sunday morning.
According to the Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. on New Road, located south of Elizabeth City. Stevenson was traveling north when, as reported by troopers, she veered across the centerline and collided with 76-year-old Roger Whidbee and 62-year-old Aileen Whidbee.
The victims were walking north in the southbound lane of the highway and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Stevenson, aged 69, has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle and for driving left of center.
