The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the individual as Roderick Miquel Cook Jr., aged 32. According to authorities, Cook was traversing a railroad crossing at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, located at the intersection of 15th Street and Third Street West in Bessemer, when he was impacted by an Amtrak passenger train. He was declared deceased at 4:25 p.m. The investigation is being conducted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
