Robin R Skorie Obituary, Death; – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of a 64-year-old woman who lost her life early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident that resulted in a fire in the town of Cameron.
Robin R. Skorie, a resident of Bryant in Langlade County, was traveling eastbound on Heritage Drive near its intersection with Wood County A when her vehicle veered across the center line and collided with a utility pole located in the ditch, as reported by the sheriff’s office. A call was made at approximately 1:52 a.m. Tuesday, indicating that a vehicle was on fire with an individual trapped inside.
Upon the arrival of emergency responders, they discovered the vehicle completely engulfed in flames in the north ditch, with downed power lines resting on top of it, according to the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department. After extinguishing the fire, they located Skorie deceased within the vehicle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the sheriff’s office. The incident caused power outages in the vicinity, prompting Marshfield Utilities to work on restoring electricity to the affected homes. Responding to the scene were the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Marshfield Police Department, and Marshfield Fire Department.
