Robert Stephen Bell Obituary, Death; – An 81-year-old man who lost his life in a two-vehicle collision near Garretson last week has been named. The incident took place on November 14 at approximately 6:19 p.m. Robert Stephen Bell, a resident of Jasper, Minnesota, succumbed to his injuries at the scene on SD Highway 11, located three miles north of Garretson.
Initial reports suggest that a 71-year-old woman was operating a 2020 Buick Encore in a northbound direction on SD Highway 11. Concurrently, a 33-year-old man driving a 2015 Kia Sorento was heading east on 250th Street and failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 11, resulting in a collision with the Buick.
Robert Bell was a passenger in the Buick. Both drivers sustained serious injuries; however, they are not life-threatening. Dense fog has been identified as a contributing factor in the accident. All individuals involved were wearing seatbelts.
