Robert Merritt Obituary, Death; – A suspect connected to the overdose death of Robert Merritt is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. Authorities have identified the suspect as 33-year-old Deric West.
In June 2023, law enforcement responded to a medical emergency in the 5000 block of Stringtown Road, where they discovered that Merritt had suffered an overdose. According to Evansville Police, West played a role in providing the drugs that led to Merritt’s death.
West is presently detained on a bond set at $100,000.
