Robert L Lynn Obituary, Death;- Deputies in Hamilton County are conducting an investigation following a deadly car accident that occurred in Harrison Bay.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported that they were dispatched to the 6800 block of Highway 58, close to Wolfever Bridge, after receiving a report of a crash involving entrapment.
Upon their arrival at the scene of the accident, deputies discovered that the vehicle had veered off the road and into Harrison Bay. HCSO stated that four deputies promptly entered the water in an attempt to rescue the driver from the car, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Rescue divers subsequently retrieved the driver’s body from the vehicle. The driver was identified as Robert L. Lynn, aged 41.
“Today, I observed my deputies, along with personnel from the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue, Hamilton County STARS, TWRA, Tennessee State Parks, and HCEMS, working tirelessly to save lives, as they do on a daily basis. Unfortunately, time was not on our side, and their efforts ultimately transitioned into a recovery operation. As Sheriff, I can confidently say that I am immensely proud of the remarkable first responders in this county. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Mr. Lynn,” stated Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett.
Personnel from the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas Bay Fire Department, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, HCEMS, Tennessee State Parks, and Hamilton County STARS all responded to the incident.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
