Ricky Canty Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old individual from Washington, D.C. was apprehended on Friday in relation to a shooting incident in Northeast that resulted in the death of one man in April, as reported by officials from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
On April 25, 2024, law enforcement officers responded to a shooting report in the 4500 block of Sheriff Road, Northeast at approximately 12:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 38-year-old Ricky Canty from Temple Hills, Maryland, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to police reports.
On August 14, an 18-year-old from Northeast was taken into custody and charged with murder. Authorities indicated that he was a minor at the time of the alleged crime and is now being prosecuted as an adult. On Friday, September 13, officers arrested Lawrence Bradshaw, Jr., an 18-year-old from Southeast, who has also been charged with murder, according to officials.
