Richard Wilburn Obituary, Death; – A woman from Morristown is currently facing a charge of first-degree murder following the discovery of a deceased man by his son in their residence last month. Court documents acquired by WVLT News detail how law enforcement officials located her.
It occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on June 17, as per the court documents obtained by WVLT News. Officers were dispatched to 107 A North High St. after receiving a call from a man who reported finding his father unresponsive.
The report further indicated that the victim, identified as 56-year-old Richard Wilburn, had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. According to the report, officers discovered a firearm on a truck parked outside the residence, which bore traces of blood.
Subsequently, with the assistance of a nearby Ring security camera, officers were able to identify 36-year-old Brittney Nicely, a resident of 107 B North High St. The report noted that she was recorded on camera placing the firearm onto the truck.
Initially, Nicely faced charges of second-degree murder. However, court records dated July 21 now reflect a charge of first-degree murder.
