Ricardo Burbano Obituary, Death; – Nearly 33 years to the day after a 19-year-old was found murdered in Hyattsville, Prince George’s County cold case detectives have made an arrest. This marks the second arrest in the ongoing investigation.
On March 31, 1992, Prince George’s County Police found an unconscious man in Hyattsville. The victim was later identified as Ricardo Burbano of Falls Church, Virginia. The medical examiner found the cause of death was strangulation, multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma. Burbano’s death was ruled a homicide.
Detectives learned the homicide happened in a home in the 100 block of Q Street Northwest In 2022, member of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Cold Case Unit identified a suspect and arrested a 47-year-old Ron Wright from Wimauma, Florida. Wright was charged with first-degree murder.
As detectives continued to investigate, a second suspect was identified. On Tuesday, 54-year-old Tyrone Long of Northwest D.C. was arrested. He was charged with first-degree murder for his role in the homicide, according to police.
