Rebecca Maes Obituary, Death; – A 44-year-old woman was fatally injured after being hit by two vehicles while walking in the southbound lanes of Interstate 25 in Pueblo during the morning of November 2.
According to a news release from the Pueblo Police Department, officers were dispatched to I-25 shortly before 7 a.m. on Saturday in response to reports of an accident involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the victim, identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office as Rebecca Maes, was walking in the southbound traffic lanes south of 13th Street when she was initially struck by a car, causing her to fall onto the roadway.
While she was on the road, a second vehicle collided with Maes. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. Following the incident, southbound I-25 was closed at 13th Street, but the interstate was reopened before 10:30 a.m., as reported by Pueblo police officials on the social media platform X.
