Randy Julian,Donna Julian Obituary, Death;- An Alton couple has been named as the victims of a tragic accident that occurred last Thursday in Wood River. Randy Julian, aged 66, and his wife, Donna Julian, aged 68, lost their lives when their car was hit at the intersection of Illinois Route 143 and Illinois Route 3 by a driver who was reportedly evading police.
Charges are currently pending against the driver, who is alleged to have fled from an attempted traffic stop at the intersection of 6th Street and Edwardsville Road in Wood River. This driver is said to have then accelerated through a parking lot, mounted a curb, and proceeded westbound on Illinois Route 143, disregarding a red light at the intersection of Illinois Route 143 and Illinois Route 3, colliding with the Julian vehicle that was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 3. The collision propelled both vehicles into a ravine located on the northwest side of the intersection. Unfortunately, Julian’s vehicle ignited, resulting in both individuals perishing in the fire.
