Prince Johnson Obituary, Death; – At least six individuals have been shot, with one fatality, due to gun violence in Chicago over the course of this weekend, according to police reports.

One individual sustained injuries from a shooting and subsequent crash on the Kennedy Expressway, located on the city’s Northwest Side, early Saturday morning, as stated by the Illinois State Police. The incident occurred on southbound Interstate 90 at North Cumberland Avenue in the O’Hare neighborhood around 12:30 a.m., as reported by ISP.

A male driver was struck by a gunshot, and his vehicle collided with a semi-truck, according to ISP. Additionally, a third vehicle was involved in the accident. The age of the shooting victim remains unknown, and he was transported to a hospital in an unspecified condition.

No other injuries have been reported.

ISP indicated that all southbound lanes were closed for an investigation, but they were reopened shortly before 4 a.m.

Authorities have not provided any further details at this time.

On Friday night, a man was discovered shot dead on the Far South Side of the city, as reported by Chicago police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 13200-block of South Langley Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, responding officers found a 43-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground outside, according to police.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Prince Johnson.

Currently, no one is in custody, and Area Two detectives are conducting an investigation.

Police have not released additional information regarding the shooting.

Just minutes prior, a suspect on a scooter shot and seriously injured a man on the North Side of Chicago, according to police reports. The shooting occurred in the Old Town neighborhood on the 500-block of West Scott Street just before 9:30 p.m., as stated by police. A 40-year-old man was seated in a parked vehicle when he noticed a male of unknown age approaching him on a scooter, according to police.

The suspect brandished a firearm, prompting the victim to draw his own handgun. The victim, who was shot in the leg and groin, was transported to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition. Officers are continuing their investigation into the incident.
