The incident occurred on southbound Interstate 90 at North Cumberland Avenue in the O’Hare neighborhood around 12:30 a.m., as reported by ISP.
A male driver was struck by a gunshot, and his vehicle collided with a semi-truck, according to ISP. Additionally, a third vehicle was involved in the accident. The age of the shooting victim remains unknown, and he was transported to a hospital in an unspecified condition.
No other injuries have been reported.
ISP indicated that all southbound lanes were closed for an investigation, but they were reopened shortly before 4 a.m.
