Pricilla Febus Obituary, Death; – A 51-year-old individual lost their life in an apartment fire in Burke County on Sunday morning, as reported by the Department of Public Safety.
The victim has been identified as Pricilla Febus. The fire ignited at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, at the Forest View Apartments located on Lenoir Road in Morganton. Upon arrival, officials discovered a significant fire and heavy smoke emanating from an upstairs corner apartment, leading to the evacuation of nearby units.
While firefighters were engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire, they unfortunately found Febus deceased within the burning apartment. Fire suppression activities continued until the blaze was brought under control, with reports indicating that the fire was confined to the affected apartment.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the cause of the fire was related to electrical issues. The American Red Cross was called upon to provide assistance to families displaced from the surrounding apartments.
