Peter Sorochinski Obituary, Death; – A resident of Levittown lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 95 last week, following a phone call he made after his own accident on the highway, according to State Police.
The Pennsylvania State Police have identified the deceased as Peter Sorochinski, who was fatally injured on I-95 South around 8:57 p.m. on Tuesday, near mile marker 20.8 and the Market Street on-ramp. Authorities are currently seeking the vehicle that struck him fatally.
According to State Police, Sorochinski was traveling in the left lane of Interstate 95 South when he collided with the impact attenuator. His vehicle subsequently crossed two lanes, hit the concrete barrier on the right side of the highway, and came to a stop in the merging lane.
Police reported that Sorochinski exited his vehicle after sustaining a suspected head injury. Another driver stopped to assist and called 911 to report the incident and provide help to Sorochinski. The caller informed police that Sorochinski made a phone call and, upon finishing, unexpectedly stepped into the right southbound lane, where he was struck by an unidentified silver sedan that fled the scene.
Sorochinski’s body was thrown onto the roadway, where it was subsequently hit by two additional vehicles. The drivers of those vehicles remained at the scene, as reported by police.
