Paul Shalk,Kevin Lawrence Obituary, Death; – The two individuals who lost their lives in the plane crash on Monday near the Lowell City Airport have been named.
Kevin Lawrence, aged 62, and Paul Shalk, aged 68, both perished in the incident that occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 21.
The duo departed from Alpena with a flight plan that routed them through Kent County. The aircraft ultimately crashed in Vergennes Township, colliding with a structure at Whistle Stop Self Storage.
A security camera located at a nearby establishment recorded the last moments of the flight. The ensuing fire required the collaborative efforts of 15 fire departments to extinguish. Lawrence resided in Presque Isle, while Shalk was from Rogers City.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office extended its sympathies to their families.
