Paul Adams Obituary, Death; – A man from Lodi has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in Midland Park earlier this month, according to prosecutors on Tuesday. The victim of the hit-and-run has been identified as a man from Wyckoff.
Ralph W. Castellano III, aged 47, faces charges of second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, third-degree endangering an injured victim, as well as various motor vehicle offenses, as stated by the office of Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
On Friday, October 11, shortly after 7 p.m., the Midland Park Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Godwin Avenue. The victim has been identified as Paul Adams, 70, whose last known residence was in Wyckoff. He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors have determined that a 2010 Toyota Tundra struck Adams while he was attempting to cross Godwin Avenue at the intersection with Witte Drive. On Monday, investigators located the vehicle and identified Castellano as the driver involved in the incident. He has been taken to Bergen County Jail to await his court appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, according to prosecutors.
