Patrick Alonzo Bell Obituary, Death; – A man from Washington lost his life after being thrown from his vehicle in a single-car accident in southern Pitt County early Friday morning, according to the State Highway Patrol.
At approximately 4:44 a.m., troopers arrived at the scene of the accident on N.C. 102 near Madison Hardee Road, located east of Ayden, as reported by the highway patrol.
The driver has been identified as 37-year-old Patrick Alonzo Bell from Washington. A trooper indicated that he was traveling east on N.C. 102 when his vehicle veered off the road to the right, hit a ditch, overturned, and ultimately came to a stop off the roadway in an uncontrolled manner.
The highway patrol noted that Bell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and was ejected from the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene. Factors contributing to the accident included speed, lane control issues, and the lack of a seatbelt, according to the highway patrol.
