Osmer Angel Ferrer Oria Obituary, Death; – The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office disclosed the identity of a third individual who lost their life in a mass shooting in the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago on Wednesday. Officials have confirmed that the deceased was 32-year-old Osmer Angel Ferrer Oria, whose residence remains unknown.
The other two victims, aged 28 and 26, were identified as Jon Carlos Blancarcer and Hector Sajo, respectively. In total, eight individuals were shot within the Gage Park residence, with ages ranging from 20 to 35 years, according to authorities.
The incident was reported around 2:10 p.m. on Monday, near the intersection of West 59th Street and South St. Louis Avenue, yet numerous questions regarding the event remain unanswered hours later. Authorities indicated that all eight victims were attending a gathering at a home located in the 3500 block of West 59th Street.
Upon responding to reports of a shooting in the vicinity, officers found four men and four women had sustained gunshot wounds, as stated by Chicago Police Department Chief of Patrol John Hein. A witness described the scene as chaotic, stating, “I just heard like, screaming. People like running out the house, screaming.”
As of late Monday, the circumstances surrounding the shooting were still unclear, with police continuing their investigation. Authorities noted that they had previously responded to multiple calls at the residence where the shooting occurred, although details of those calls have not been disclosed.
In a statement, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed condolences on behalf of the city, saying, “We as a city are praying and grieving for all the victims, survivors, and their families. There is no place in our city for senseless acts of violence.
