Omar Tovar Obituary, Death; – A 36-year-old man was identified on Monday after being struck and killed while attempting to cross the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach.
The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday when the victim was hit by a westbound vehicle while crossing the Pacific Coast Highway, located west of Golden Avenue, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
Personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified him on Monday as Omar Tovar.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Police have stated that speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving are not believed to be contributing factors in this fatal incident.
