Oliver Krauth Obituary, Death; – The Charleston County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life in a hit-and-run incident on July 11.
Oliver Krauth, a 70-year-old man who was wheelchair-bound and resided in Charleston, has been identified as the victim.
As reported by the Charleston Police Department, Krauth was in the process of crossing Paul Cantrell Boulevard at the intersection with Henry Tecklenburg Drive around 9 p.m. on July 11, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling on the road.
The driver left the scene before emergency responders arrived, and the Charleston Police Department has not yet been able to identify either the driver or the vehicle involved.
Krauth was taken to MUSC, where he subsequently succumbed to the blunt force injuries he sustained in the accident.
