Obilaynes Antolin-Garcia,Jonas Morrero-Lobeto Arrested; – Police responded to an unusual incident in the Brawley Farms neighborhood on Saturday afternoon. It was a narrow escape for one family.
Bullet holes had penetrated a rear window of the victim’s residence. If anyone had been seated at the head of the dining room table, they could have been injured.
“That’s what we’re thankful for,” remarked Almeta Erwin, a neighbor. “Nobody was harmed.”
Almeta Erwin and her spouse, George, have resided in the community for over 20 years.
“We are uncertain about what to think since we have never encountered anything like this in our neighborhood,” George Erwin stated.
Authorities apprehended 47-year-old Obilaynes Antolin-Garcia and 40-year-old Jonas Morrero-Lobeto for discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. The victim informed Channel 9 that the individuals had been consuming alcohol and had created an improvised shooting range targeting cans. At least three of those bullets struck her home.
Daniel Ragin, a neighbor, hails from a family of hunters.
“Often, people assume that just because they are familiar with firearms, they can act recklessly. However, alcohol does not mix well with any activity involving firearms,” Ragin expressed. “If one cannot drink and drive, there is no justification for drinking and shooting.”
In addition to the charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling, one of the men faces a charge of child abuse for allegedly consuming alcohol and firing a weapon in the presence of a child.
Both individuals are currently being held in jail without bond.
