Nekedra Rainey Obituary, Death; – A woman from Natchitoches has been apprehended following a fatal hit-and-run incident, as reported by the Natchitoches Police Department.
On September 21, at approximately 12:05 p.m., NPD responded to a call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle in the 1200 block of Texas Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Nekedra Rainey, 44, of Natchitoches, lying on the ground. She was transported to a medical facility, where she was pronounced dead due to her injuries.
Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a blue Nissan Sentra. The police were able to locate the driver shortly thereafter. Kadaija Jackson, 24, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter and hit-and-run. She is currently being held at the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
