Natasha M Spellicy,Tyler Spellicy Obituary, Death; – Two people and three dogs were killed in a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Lewis County, New York State Police said.
Authorities identified the deceased as Natasha M. Spellicy, 39, of Taberg, N.Y. and Tyler Spellicy, 16. State Police responded to the crash at the intersection of State Route 12D and State Route 26 in the Town of West Turin around 4:15 p.m. on July 17.
According to police, Natasha Spellicy failed to stop at the intersection and entered the path of the tractor-trailer, which struck the driver’s side of her 2011 Honda Pilot.
Police said the Honda and the tractor-trailer continued southeast, with the Honda eventually going into a ditch. The tractor-trailer then struck a red SUV on Route 26. The red SUV and the tractor-trailer came to a rest off the northeast side of the road.
The deceased were pronounced dead at the scene. A front seat passenger in the Honda was taken to Upstate Medical University Hospital and listed in stable condition. Two people in the red SUV were taken to Wynn Hospital in Utica and were listed in good condition.
Police said a drug-recognition test was performed on the driver of the tractor-trailer and produced no signs of impairment. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
