Nakole Akila Curry Obituary, Death; – The driver killed in an early Saturday morning crash at the I-14/I-35 merge in Bell County has been identified as 24-year-old Nakole Akila Curry of Killeen.
DPS Sgt Bryan Washko said Curry was the driver of a 2022 Jeep Compass who witnesses had reported had been driving recklessly, traveling at a high rate of speed going east in the westbound lanes of I-14 as far back as Nolanville. As she took the merge toward I-35 going the wrong way she crashed into a guardrail with the vehicle coming to rest in the grassy median.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman. The crash investigation was reported still open Tuesday.
